Photographer's Note
Just as I was leaving Angkor Wat in the late afternoon and heading to the airport, a huge storm began moving in from the east. The sun was to my back and lit up the west gate of temple beautifully. I was very fortunate to have such dramatic lighting for what would have otherwise been just another photo of Angkor Wat. Let me know if you think I should crop out more of the sky. The photo is actually much larger, but I had to reduce the file size to post to the site.

2/3 of sky? you will lose a little part of the reflection in water... it is a good compromise like that. a good moment captured.

Great shot Shaun.
color of the sky is really amazing and "terrifiant".
the water reflection is simply perfect, and the subject, the great Angkor Wat, is well capture.
it's a pity that the image is very small!
thanks, ciao

Wow, this is a very dramatic shot. The sunlight on the buildings with the dark clouds behind is quite special. Gorgeous!

The light is perfect on the building, and the grey sky is wonderful, which is perfect for the reflexion.
I do not think you should crop the sky since the dark grey clouds form a diagonal which is great, and the darker clouds are on top.
It is nice as it is !

Very brooding image - which would be better posted at a larger size.

Extremely beutiful clouds and interesting building. But first of all beutiful light created by storm. You're right - such dramatic light creates incredible effect. Good job :) Just have a look at workshop - some additional elements which can give additional effect on this pucture - hope you'll like it.

It is a nice photo. You should reduce the weight, not the size. Dont crop the sky..
Optimize..

I glad I found this shot, Shaun. With a view like this, that has been pictures thousands of times, the challenge is to find a way to stop it being just another picture of Angkor Wat. You have done that wonderfully, with your incredible sky, reflected in to water. It makes such a dramatic image.

Very nice image Shaun! The stormy clouds really helped your colors pop. This is perfectly exposed. I just wish we had a larger image to see.

Hi Shaun
A shame with the small size of this picture.
Besides that, it is one of the best shots i have seen of Angkor wat, the stormy sky and the vivid colours are great. and it doesn't look like there were too many tourists as well.

Beautiful dramatic landscape. Perfect framing, no change required. You could have compressed your file by X%, keep the maximum width of 800 pixels, and still be able to upload a larger picture.
Congratulations Shaun!
