Photographer's Note
Angkor literally means 'Capital City' or 'Holy City'. Today, it refers to the capital city of the Khmer Empire that existed in Cambodia between 9th and 12th centuries AD, as well as to the empire itself. The temple ruins in the province of Siem Reap are the remnants of the Angkorian capital, and represent the pinnacle of the ancient Khmer architecture, art and civilization.
The little boy in this photo was gazing at the larger temple building in the distant at Angkor Wat shortly after sunrise, waiting for visitors to buy his handicraft.

Hi Alfred. Beautifully crafted shot. Lovely use of light and shadow. The little boy's anticipation is nicely captured as he looks out for a possible customer. Beyond him part of the old city shimmers in the light.A difficult shot well managed. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Alfred, great use of the light form a diagonal, taking the viewer to the temple silouette. Texture on the floor is good and the boy adds a nice human element. well done. Cheers, Steve

Hi, Alfred -
Great composition and framing. I would have brushed down the overexposed part, though.

Hi Alfred,
Beautiful compo with warm light and poetic subject. Maybe a little overexposed on the auside part of the door, but you managed pretty well the dificult light conditions. I guess a B&W also would have worked well here.

Hello Alfred, This is a real beauty, Two pictures in one, The little boy casting a big shadow on the pavement is excellent in colour & detail, the other part of the picture is the little boy again standing in the doorway, in the sunlight, anxiously waiting for people to purchase his goods with the silhouetted temple in BG. Well done, a beautiful image, my compliments.
Regards
Santo

Hello Alfred
It was a pleasure to meet you&Bill in PP and we had a real good time ;)
We still did not go to Siem Reap, so it is nice to see from you the silhouetted temple ruins at a distance and with the little boy naturally framed in between the door! Not an easy light outside but the sunrays illuminating the pavement in FG and the shade of the kid are just fantastic. An original framing too!
Cheers
Marilyn
I did not sort out my pictures yet and I'll try to post soon ;)

Hello Alfred,
Such clarity and quality especially within the indoor area. Great shadow highlight control under difficult lighting. Wonderful composition with the boy giving you a great focal point and long shadow leading the way to the silhouette. I like the diagonal and vertical light ... really good POV. And congratulations on the new lens ... a fine investment. Give me a call when you come to KL again. Regards. Latiff.

Thumbs up, Alfred, for contributing a somewhat different and original shot of Angkor Wat. Great diagonal composition, brilliant shadow. The light outside is very strong, I wonder what a shorter exposure would have done here. The brown in the left bottom corner is brilliant. Great and original picture, I wonder if a PP wizzard might not be able to make it even more impressive.
Have a good WE & thanks for your creativity.

Hi Alfred!
I really like this! Surely a different vision of Angkor!I like the way you show it through the door, in spite of the hard light. I also like the silhouette of the little boy and, of course, his shadow in foreground.

Hi Alfred, this photo should be in a book! You must be so pleased with it. The DOF is amazing. You have captured the little child's shadow so shaprly and beautifully, yet still managed to retain the detail of the temple in the background. Great job & TFS, Lisa.

Nice composition - two pictures in one really telling a story at the same time of the little boy going off to school on a bright sunny morning. I particularly like the shadow on the pavement.

hello again Alfred
An excellent backlight shot
Very tricky light situation that you managed properly given the main role to the kid and its shadow. Of course the temple is overexposed but not the extent to make it hard to identify
Great
have a nice day
