Photographer's Note
Ko-Ker was one of the ancient capitals of the Angkorian Khmer Empire during the 10th century.
Untill very recently it was extremely difficult to reach Ko Ker which has a status of "Lost City in the Jungle". Situated in a very remote area approximately 140 km north east of Siem Reap you could only reach it on elephant back ,ox cart or dirt-motobike travelling through very remote un-inhabited jungle areas on a very narrow and ill kempt trail.
In the past year that road has been upgraded by a logging and construction company, still a dirt road and quite bumpy and very slippery in some steep parts after or during rain it is still feasable to reach KoKer with-in 3-4 hours from Siem Reap or 2 hours from TBM(capital of the province).
After a long absence from the forum I came for a visit and noticed that while there are hundreds or maybe thousands of photos of the main Angkor Temples there isn't a single photo from KoKer ...
There are doesens of temples in KoKer and only a small village of about 20 famillies .
The area is very beautifull, covered by dense jungle and you can play at being Henri Mouhot discovering temples . Just carefully , the area has only been demined in the past 2 years around the main temples.
An amazing and very rewarding place to visit and photograph and you are virtually guaranteed of being almost alone with out the throngs of mass tourism.

Hi Dror,
Nice POV and composition using the tree as a frame to this wonderfull green piramid. There's a little noise on the sky, but may be due to the reduction for the web. I find the light a little to crude. Did a workshop, ust playng with the light and contrast to test the result. No sure if it got better..., maybe is just a matter of taste.
Cheers,
Flavia

It was good to include the tree and shadow which helps make it an interesting composition.I would have preferred a little more sharpness on the monument, maybe usm tweak or smaller apature. It must be lovely to see these temples year round
