Photographer's Note
I often wonder how these people can make a living, how hard must it be to sit on the street corner day after day with your tools waiting for people that need locks repaired!!
If a new lock of better quality cost Thaka 90, (Euro cent 0.90), we had to buy one during our travels. How much do you think he charges to repair locks and what is his profit?

Hi Elaine
A nice protrait. I like the environment, I find the man beautiful and very class with his white beard and hair, and afunny costume. The light on the wood gives also a nice texture.

Dear Elaine
A lost art or profession...today in the days of Use & Throw items, where is the use of these locksmiths. We get locks for as low as 0.5 Euro...question is about sustenace...how does he do that I wonder. And yet he elects to wear an European suit...the irony of it is striking! A fine portrait but even more, an interesting documentation of daily life
Best Regards
Angshu
