Photographer's Note
L'enfant était enfermé dans sa cage de couleurs.
Il attendait la fin du chemin.
Celui qui le menait à l'école, au savoir, et peut être à la réussite.
Pauvre, parmi les pauvres.
Il pourrait s'échapper des durs travaux des champs.
Il pourrait étudier les mots qui chantent,
les crayons de couleurs, et les idées qui font penser.
L'école de Chakaria a été crée par l'ONG française "Amis des Enfants du Monde".
Elle y accueille une partie des enfants handicapés de notre programme contre le rachitisme.
"Aide Médicale et Développement" l'ONG pour laquelle je travaille, a mis en place au même endroit un centre de lutte contre le rachitisme et le handicap de l'enfant.

The child was locked up in his cage of colors.
He awaited the end of the way.
That which carried out it to the school, the knowledge, and can be the success.

He could study the words which sing, the colouring pencils, and the ideas which make think.
The school of Chakaria was creates by the french ONG "Amis des Enfants du Monde".
It receive a part of the handicapped children of our program against the rickets.
"Aide Médicale et Développement" the ONG for which I work, set up at the same place a center of fight against the rickets and the handicap of the child.

Je n'ai pas de suite compris que ce gamin, dont on découvre le joli visage aux yeux pleins de vie, se trouvait dans le "cycle rickshaw" qui l'amène à l'école. Les courbes blanches tranchent vraiment bien sur le bleu de la "carriole".

Ah Bertrand, tout ce qui vient du Bangladesh me va droit au coeur ! J'aimerais bcp visiter cette école alors que j'en ai vu plusieurs récemment en Inde... C'est un portrait magnifique qui pourrait faire des belles cartes postales, notamment des cartes de voeux ! Non seulement le sourire, mais aussi le détail du véhicule et la peinture : j'adore !

Bravo Bertrand pour cet excellent portrait.
Je trouve admirable cette composition, où ton sujet est en interaction avec un truc ludique. Le côté rustre et rouillé contraste parfaitement avec le visage lisse de l'enfant. Sa tête forme le troisième demi-cercle, amorcé à sa droite. La main qui s'agrippe et l'expression du gamin sont des atouts indéniables.
