Photographer's Note

In the area near Baku, there are fascinating objects - mud volcanos. Especially attractive ones are in the village of Qobustan. 350 of the 800 mud volcanoes of the world are in the Azerbaijani Republic. They are smaller than normal volcanoes and are often located on oil fields. In September 2018, a mud volcano erupted in Azerbaijan, sending plumes of black smoke and flames up to 300m into the sky. I have seen already similar mud bubbling in New Zealand. But in Azerbaijan, the mud is cold.

Great fun is to observe the
mud volcanos in action.

see big beta pictures.

Strange that up to now there are only two photos of Azerbaijani mud volcanos.

By the way. Azerbaijan is my 87th visited country. And it is difficult to believe but now on TE I am equal Gert :). It seemed impossible a few years ago.
