Photographer's Note
This is a still life that I composed shortly before these unfortunate fellows became supper. The photogods must have been smiling when both I took this and when I developed it, because the negative needed almost no post cleanup work. Just some level adjustments to make it a bit more contrasty, and a subtle green/sepia tritone to richen it up a bit. There wasn't even any dust spots, and that NEVER happens. I took this shot my last trip to the area where I grew up.

Hi Hubert!
This is life! That's what the nature is. All the species eat one another to survive. That's why there's nothing cruel in the picture, although you show the fish on the verge of dying. Maybe it would be better to use Frech name for 'still nature' which is 'nature mort' /dead nature/:-)
Anyways, a very good attempt. Still nature is never an easy thing to do. Well done!
Cheers!

Mmmm! As an American southerner, these little fish are some of my favorite to eat. Nice job including all the elements of the scene in the photo - the fish, stringer, net, rod, pliers, weights. And I can just imagine the wooden dock you must have been fishing off. Nice job.
