Photographer's Note

J'avais quitt l'hmisphere Nord pour partir en voyage.
J'avais pass l'quateur pour fuir les rigueurs de l'hivers.
J'tais arriv l, Zanzibar, dans une chaleur moite, et un festival de couleurs.
J'tais dans l'hmisphre Sud, et plus rien n'tait pareil.

Les heures changeaient au gr des jours *
Les bateaux dormaient au milieu de la mer,
et les hommes marchaient sur la tte.

* A Zanzibar, l'heure commence chaque jour au lever du soleil. Il y a donc environ 6 heures de dcalage avec l'heure "occidentale" o la journe commence minuit.

I had left the northern hemisphere to leave on a journey.
I had passed the equator to flee the rigours of winters.
I was arrived there, in Zanzibar, in a moist heat, and a festival of colors.
I was in the southern hemisphere, and nothing was similar.
The hours changed with the liking of the days *
The boats slept in the middle of the sea,
and the men walked on the head.

* in Zanzibar, time begins each day with the rising of the sun.
It give approximately 6 hours of shift with the occidental time where the day starts at midnight.
