Photographer's Note
This picture was taken inside an old residence which now houses the local Shuinan folk museum.
The right side of the frame is me playing with the various layers, windows, screens and scrolls inside the house.
I like the idea of time leaving traces...

The message is beautifully and intelligently built/ conveyed, Benny! I love the way you divided the frame and worked with the focus. Both parts speak about the passing of time: the left hand side (as I'm looking at the picture) is somehow dreamy / meditative - the right hand side more 'pragmatic', and the whole package works excellently for me.
The subdued colours support so fine your idea. I'm a fan of the brownish tones in photography :)

It's like two differennt images in one yet all the elements work well together to form a cohesiveness. I really like your layering effect it looks great especially with the pattern screen and the lettering beyond that. Nice use of 3rds composition too.

Benny...hey...
The abstract effect in the foreground does add a dimension to the frame..the mood is soft and so are the colours in the frame...i would opt for a conversion here..but not if the chinese lantern was fully visible..i wish to own one of those...

Great image Benny and very creative use of composition and out of focus plane in the front. Nice light and colours also. Soft harmonious colours suit perfectly to this scene of sitting elderly people and that out of focus "phantom" adds a mystery element + calligraphy (like picture in a picture) adds another pictorial or textual element to the very interesting shot.
One of the best I have seen for a while on TE...
All in all... great job!

Love this POV, observing from afar, without disturbing the people of their peaceful and private space. It is a great observation and well thought out composition, the Chinese Calligraphy thought the soft focus window patterns adds so much more to this poetic place, making this composition a very special one. Discrete, yet it speaks to me very clearly and it inspire me to want to once again pick up my brush and do a few stroke of charators. My sincere gratitude and complements.

Great scene, great composition with the blurry woody wall. Like from a piece of theatre. Just one think disturbe me a little : the lamp. I would like to "clone" it ;))).

without the curtain, the photo would have worked at all. the title sums up the atmosphere of the photo.

Well composed and good color tone!
This photograph captures the side of one typical daily life that seems to be China. I think that two elderly persons who are sitting right edge and hanging scroll written by Chinese character on the left side are drawing out a deep effect in the whole. And, wooden poles at the center and right wall at brown color draw out atmosphere that it settles down the room.
