Photographer's Note
Until April 26th, Pera Museum, in Beyoğlu, hosts one of the greatest masters of world cinema Akira Kurosawa by his 87 extraordinary works… Storyboards of his movies, drawn by himself personally, present a different aspect of the director’s talent. Inspired by both Japanese and Western cultures, he builds a bridge between the Far East and the West and takes you to a journey into a world of unique images.
In the exhibition storyboards of several movies by Kurosawa is presented scene by scene.
A whole section is specially designed for his famous movie “Ran” and other masterpieces of the director are presented in another section including “Kagemusha” (Shadow Warrior), “Yume” (Dreams) and “Madadayo” (Not Yet).
“There are a multitude of things that I think of when I draw storyboards. The setting of the location, the psychology and emotions of the characters, their movement, the camera angle needed to capture those movements, lighting conditions, costume and props… Unless I think of the specifics of all those things, I cannot draw the picture. Or, perhaps it’s more accurate to say, that I draw the storyboards in order to think about those things. In this manner, I solidify, enrich, and capture the image of each scene in a film until I see it clearly. Only then do I proceed with the actual shooting.” …by Akira Kurosawa

Hello Burcu, a good PoV in the gallery.The composition is very good with the purple wall on the right hand side displaying the work of art balancing the shot.The figure is perfectly placed following the rule of thirds.
The lighting is well managed considering that it is in a gallery.

genis acinin keyfini cikarmaya baslamissin anlasilan.. cok da keyiflidir eminim.. aynen fotograf makinani ilk aldigin zamanlardaki keyfin bir benzerini yasiyorsundur.. darisi basima:)
renkler senin kiyafet ve aksesuarlarindan cikmis gibiler.. o yuzden bu fotografi sana cok yakistirdim tatlim.. bakis acin harika, duvarla bolunmus, beyaz kalin cerceveli tablolarla ve modelle harika gorunyor gercekten.. siemaskop da cok yerinde kullanilmis:)

Your photo included excellent depth with enviable effect of splendidly colored walls, corridors and lights. Perfectly balanced horizontally and vertically too. The white frames on vivid colored walls, visitor's position are just skillful. Reflections on floor, capturing illuminated bands without any lose at bottom edge of walls shows the quality of your capture. Congratulations.

lucky that you can shoot in museums :))..the light and the ambience is urely tempting...only the ones who have an eye can make the most of it..and you my friend surely have.. the point if inrterests are held at the edges of the frame..well thought out and presented...like you gallery alot

Hi Burcu,
I like photos from museums or galleries. If properly taken they have a very special atmosphere. This is the case with this picture here. I like very much the atmosphere, it is mainly due to the composition and natural light. One of the drawings in the foreground was a great idea.
