Another perspective on the Neptune fountain in Bologna; this one taken from the Piazza Maggiore.
Bologna is the largest city and capital of Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy. It is the seventh most populous city in Italy, located in the heart of a metropolitan area officially recognized by the Italian government as a cittΰ metropolitana of about one million.
The city, the first settlements of which date back to at least 1000 BC, has always been an important urban centre, first under the Etruscans (Velzna/Felsina) and the Celts (Bona), then under the Romans (Bononia), then again in the Middle Ages, as a free municipality. For one century it was the fifth largest European city based on population.

Hello Stephen,
Good bright and clear view of a square in this Italian city. The statue in the BG acts as an attractive focal point. The light has helped to bring out beautiful colours and nice clarity in this composition. I like the inclusion of the tourists/pedestrians who are leisurely strolling on the square soaking in the bright sun shine. I like it. Thanks for sharing.

Vibrant piazza scenery, Stephen, caught nicely a portrait of a mother and daughter in front.
Fine sunny day, many people/tourists stroll along, and the Neptune statue prominently looks from a high POV.

Hello Stephen - We will be in Italy in May and one thing your shots have underlined for me is the life to be found and enjoyed in the open spaces of the piazzas. I cannot imagine living in a place with such fabulous and distinctive architecture and relaxed surroundings. Another super shot which conveys the atmosphere of the Italian piazzas very well.
