Photographer's Note
This picture was taken a few days ago when I visited Lower Largo on the east coast of Fife in order to capture some snapshots of the statue of Alexander Selkirk, the true-life sailor who was born here, lived as a castaway on a deserted island for over four years, and became the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe".
The light that day was wonderful and I staggered down to the rocks at the seashore and took this shot looking west to the Forth estuary. You can see the chimney of the coal-fired power station at Methil on the horizon.
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Hello John,
very nice picture of the coast and the little village.
Very nice colors and good light. I like the contrast of white spume reaching the dark stones. Good sharpness and details. Great clouds in the sky. Well done.
Best wishes,
Helmut

Hi John,
A very sharp and detailed photo, almost giving the impression of an old marine painting! The waves are masterly captured and the colours are of the usual high standard. That slight hint of sunshine is also very attractive. This must be one of my favourites!

Hello John,
You have excelled yourself with this picture - it really is superb!
The light - as you have said before, is everything, and you have taken full advantage of it. I particularly like the way that every detail of those FG rocks can be seen, yet the sky is perfectly exposed.
I suspect you've been using your favourite LS/DH tool again.
This would be a fantastic picture to use as the subject of a painting.
The reddish rocks amongst the frothing sea in the FG, the sweep round of the sea wall and those lovely, simple little houses against the skyline - the composition is great.
Like Gunnar I'm going to make this one of my favourites too.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi John
Another cracking shot, that new Tamron lens is certainly being used to it's best, anyway the fg interest is great the colour fine but my small crit would be I don't think you have made the most of that sky, I would have darkened down the sky adding slightly more drama to the scene.
Hope you have no objections but I've done my usual mono convertion hope you like it
Regards
Kenny
