Hello,
I took this photo 1 year ago, in Garut Jawa Barat, about 150 km from Jakarta. This house is called “Rumah Gadang” which means “big house”. It is called Rumah Gadang because of it’s big size. This traditional house has a unique form of architecture with pointed roof peak shape that resembles a water buffalo horn and was formerly made of fibers that can hold up to tens of years, but later the roof of this house is much changed with tin roofs. while the house body curved ramps like the hull. Body shape ‘Rumah Gadang’ that the enlarged rectangle upwards (inverted trapezoidal) sides curved into or low in the central part, the aesthetic is a dynamic composition. I hope you like it. Sastro.
