Photographer's Note
Today I went out for lunch to try out my new camera. Target was the library of the Delft University of Technology as this nice piece of modern architecture offers some great photo opportunities. One of them is the roof, which is covered with grass with some concrete tiles. Any comments/workshops on colours and composition are most welcome.
Tech (in Photoshop): cropped, auto contrast, saturation +10, midtone blues +10, little brightening of the cloud, USM 100/0.5/0, frame added.
UPDATE: Hmmm... just found out that I've made this picture unnecessarily small. Don't know what went wrong when I saved it before uploading to TE, but it is only 25k in size. The JPG compression is too heavy :-( Better luck next time.

I never would have guessed that was a roof. I like this shot because of its simplicity and the color; without the cloud, it would not be very interesting, but the cloud gives a focal point. Well done!

Wow, Michael, you had a great lunch today. This is a fine image with your new D70, congratulations! I like the way you composed it with the steps in a fine diagonal. You could even enter in to the hunt, for a path leading into a vanishing point. Did you order that cloud there? ;-) The colors are really nice and you did a wonderful job this afternoon.

Bigger, bigger, bigger!
This is a lovely image Michael that deserves every pixel TE offers us. Before you post an image check the dimensions in your image processing software and size it accordingly. With the fine equipment you're using I don't doubt you are capturing very large images and reducing them. Simply reduce them less.
As for the image, it is first rate. The repetitive stone path leading up the nicely saturated green slope toward the gorgeous sky and cloud. This is worthy of Carlos Martos. We want more!

What a wonderful composition. So simple but so eye catching. The sky that go from almost white to blue and the green, and the extra touch: the cloud. The black frame is also very nice selection, you need to copy write it!

great composition! it reminds me of another shot that i recently saw in TE with one cloud, 1 tree and this kind of atmosphere in the picture. i love the simplicity and at the same time the power of this image. the contrast and the lines are also great. I maybe would have personally like a bit more saturation on the colors to enhance the contrast between green and blue, but this is a personal taste. great not too.

Hoe zoiets eenvoudigs, zo leuk kan zijn. Het is prachtig hoe die tegels als een pad als het ware naar de hemel lopen. En dan die grappige wolk daar dan net boven. Heel goed gedaan. Ik had ook nooit gedacht dat dit een dak was.

Hie Michael. You got me here. Looking at the thumbnail or even the photo itself, I thought it was a green field and blue sky. A lovely piece of work, Michael. It seems the composition couldn't be any simpler, but it is very well conceived, with the diagonal of the walkway seemingly pointing to the cloud, and with the perfect cropping and color contrast. Great stuff.
You've got to consider a re-post in a bigger format though, this is just too pretty to remain that small ;-)

This has the right ingridients for a great composition: the tiles which seem to form a path from the bottom left corner up towards the sky and the cloud on the blue sky in the upper right corner, which, I guess is the result of mother nature being on your side. Out of everything this green lawn could have been on, I would have never guessed a roof in a university center. Well seen. Well done.

Image has a magenta color caste. It is interesting, well composed and nicely exposed, except the polarizing filter effect is just a little too strong. The saturation added in PS did not help this image.
