Photographer's Note
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest lies in Washington State and sprawls more than 140 miles along the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains from the Canadian border to the northern boundary of Mt. Rainier National Park. In the winter, this area is a hot spot for skiiers. During the summer, the area is very quiet and becomes the haunt of bear, deer, and hikers.

A splendid scenery very well captured in your photo, John. Very nice to see this deep blue color of the lake as it is surrounded by the grand mountains. A lovely range of saturated colors and natural textures, and the subtle reflections on the water surface are very pretty as well. Truly a fine scenic photo, well done.

This is a picture of quality.
The composition is interesting. The cold colours are very nice.
The image quality is not at its best with the pixelated pattern but this is surely due to Internet conversion.
And these pixels are well hidden by the grass.
The landscape is breathtaking.

Hi John. I will be going very close to this area as well on my vacation. Was this off a road or during a hike? But your clarity here just blows me away. I like the partial reflection and the way that cumulus cloud fills the notch in the mountain. Incredible shot John!!

I'm jealous of your ventures to all these gorgeous places! I haven't been to Mt. Baker since I was a kid back in the early 80's. I remember my dad taking my up to go skiing. Mt. Baker truly is a beautiful mountain- as you well know- clearly visible from Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Nice capture!

Hi John, I like the combination of the lake, the rock mountain, and the snow patches. I guess that here is a still a good place for die hard skiers. A beautiful capture of the blue sky and the beautiful reflections on the water. The road on the side of the lake makes a nice size reference to the area.

Wow John, I've been away and you've posted a gorgeous shot. With the foreground in a concave to match the slopes on the opposite shore, looking into this alpine lake is a bit like looking into a vortex. Sort of goes on forever. Really nicely done.

John,
I've loved the cascades since I visited Crater Lake in Oregon some 30 some years ago. On our grand tour west it seemed a long days journey from anywhere but the scenery particularly the blues and contrasting rocks and snow (even in July!) make me recommend the trip to anyone. I've recently come to TE so my posts may seem belated, but I had to comment on your spectacular capture of those blues, volcanic rocks and the snow.
