Photographer's Note
I took this shot at Basirhat(a town near Kolkata).
The White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher or Smyrna Kingfisher, is a tree kingfisher,widely distributed in Eurasia from Bulgaria, Turkey, West Asia east through the Indian Subcontinent to the Philippines. This kingfisher is a resident over much of its range, although some populations may make short distance movements. It can often be found well away from water where it feeds on a wide range of prey that includes small reptiles, amphibians, crabs, small rodents and even birds. During the breeding season they call loudly in the mornings from prominent perches including the tops of buildings in urban areas or on wires.

Hello Indrasish, a lovely Natural History shot that is beautifully presented,the colourful kingfishers are perfectly framed in their environment by the branches and leaves.

vivi in un ambiente straordinariamente bello ed hai la fortuna e soprattutto la capacitΰ di poerlo rappresentare.
Anche questa bella foto di oggi mostra un aspetto della regione del Bengala cogliendo un soggetto ricco di colore, inserito nel suo ambiente naturale in una bella composizione curata nella messa a fuoco e nella nitidezza complessiva.
Una ottima foto che θ anche un bel biglietto di presentazione per la regione del West Bengala.

That's a fine pair they are, catching a single kingfisher would not be easy. Two of them? wow. I like this image, one of the beautiful birds of the wild and with such a a pose it enhances their beauty tremendously. It's a great, you must have waited ages for the two to come together in this mating! pose and this image is also an example of the bird behavior. From the point of view of photography this image has all the elements for a nice image as excellent composition, excellent lighting, diffused background to stand out the subject etc. It's an excellent image and a great oppurtunity so well taken. Congrats.
