* Acacia xanthophloea (Arbre Fivre) est un acacia originaire de lAfrique de lEst et Australe. Il tiendrait son nom de sa tendance se dvelopper dans les zones marcageuses. Les pionniers stablissant dans la rgion pensaient que la malaria se contractait proximit de ces arbres, alors quen fait la maladie se propageait par les moustiques vivant dans les marcages

*Acacia xanthophloea (Fever Tree) is a tree which is native to the following countries in Africa: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe. The name comes indirectly from its tendency to grow in swampy areas. Early settlers in the region thought that malarial fever was contracted from being around the trees, when in fact the fever was spread by mosquitos living in the swamp
