Photographer's Note
According to information I found on the internet, there are 14 million cows in South Africa. We made a short stop on our travel in South Africa three years ago, between Dundee and Ladysmith, to have a look at these cowhides. Together with the beautiful cowhides, I was attracted to the colours of the clothespins. I will post two pictures in WS. One with a closer view and one with a wider view.

Hi Erling,maybe it's a first time on TE for a post dedicated only for cowhides..ehhee...very very original idea,in effect the colors of colthespins that changes in your 3 pics are like the cherries on the cake,very impressive sharpness and brightness,very curious post from S.A.,I like it! Detta δr en vδldigt originell bild. Kohudarna δr vackra och nδstan skimrar i det varma ljuset, men det δr δndε klδdnyporna som gφr stφrst intryck. Eller de δr εtminstone vδldigt fina komplement till hudarna genom sina starka och avvikande fδrger. Iakttagelsen av hudarna ledde till en ny iakttagelse som gjorde detta till en riktigt bra TE-bild.

On thumbnail I was thinking they are partial capture of a cow but no, it was just a a skin of one of them.

Hello Erling,
For sure you show us very beautiful cowhides here.
I wonder how a photo would look like that is taken completely by one of the cowhides.
When I see your photos, I mainly feel the contrast between the colourful artificial material of the clothespins and the warm natural colours of the skins of the animals.

I have no proof, but I'm confident you are the first ever to post a cow hide photo like this on TE haha. and why not right? I wonder how it looks from way back, to see how they look on the line and how it sits on the landscape. Is there a large farm of them??? of just one or two? I'm curious. A very interesting photo. A nice note as well. They look more fur like with nice white designs. You had a very interesting side trip in Eastern Africa. I have not traveled much in Africa, almost any daily life photo would be interesting to me. I like this.
