Photographer's Note
I couldn't resist taking this photo he was posing so nicely as if to say "here I am, take you best shot"
This particular giraffe is about 19' tall and weighs almost 1ton.
Some facts he has only 7 vertebrae in his long neck- the same as humans. Each adult giraffe vertebrae is about 11 inches long. Special valves in the neck arteries help control the blood flow and heart pressure when the animal raises and lowers is head. This blood control prevents the animal from passing out by maintaining a somewhat constant amount of blood to the brain.
Just thought you'd like to know.

Nice one Mark! Really illustrate the advantages of having a long neck and low bushes to feed on... Nice, simple composition, good colors.
Well done!

And it actually does look like he (or she?) is posing! Very effective composition. I like the frame, too.

Very nice shot Mark. We don't get to see much giraffe on TE. I like the sky with those clouds. You have position yourself very well to take this photo. Is it wild? here we have giraffe at Granby Zoo. I did a W.S. on it just for fun, I hope you don't mind?...Gaιtan

La composition est parfaite, ainsi que le commentaire est intιressant. Cependant, les couleurs ne sont pas assez saturιes.
J'ai effectuι un WS.

Wow, Mark, this seems a portrait of the giraffe for the form in that she looks at you, it is a beautiful landscape: a sky with beautiful clouds, leaving the exact space to make it shine alone to her, pose her it is perfect, I remember once I tried to draw a giraffe, it was very difficult for my to delineate their contour, in this picture I believe that the silhouette is perfect and I could draw it following an only line. The color of the vegetation is beautiful and the giraffe seems to play the sky and to caress with her head the clouds. Thank you to share this beautiful image with us. Saludos Cordiales. *Ninfa Urania*
