At the end of our cycling trip we came to Jinack Island at the far north west of Gambia. THe island is devided between Senegal and the Gambia and when you just follow the beach you will cross the border without notice,
Here you see a Senegalese fishing village and on the right a family gathering a meal of shell fish in the mangroves.

Een goede compositie met verschillende aantrekkelijke elementen: het vissersdorp met enkele lange boten, een palmenstrand en een mangrovebos.
Mooi met de kleurrijk geklede mensen die naar je toe komen.

Hello Gerrit.
Now, this is an exotic shot and a good introduction of Gambia and Senegal to all of us on Trekearth. It appears that they have significant tides, unlike what I would have expected so close to the Equator. The depth-of-field is excellent, as are the colors.

Hello Gerrit,
I wasn't aware of this island shared by Gambia and Senegal. But is it really an island? I looked closely at the Google map and thought it looked like a kind of peninsula. Never mind, it's an attractive photo with great colours and some human activities going on.

Hello Gerrit, So again you were in the bike trip and in Africa. Brave! Marvelous view. I like the mangroves on the right side and the fishing village with boats and palms. Do they collect something in mangroves? Very attractive picture.
