Photographer's Note
I wanted to show today the photos from Philae but I couldn't decide which. So instead the story from Hurghada. Philae will be another time.
As you can guess, I was on the Nile cruise with a group. It was fabulous time.
After the cruise I spent three days in Hurghada. One day with the group in one resort and then two days all alone in the other. As much as I love ruins and all these temples, in Hurghada I felt free and I enjoyed it a lot.
There is a beautiful mosque in the center and I wanted to see it. I walked around but couldn't find the entrance. It was closed. When I was standing there not knowing what to do, a guy from the shop saw me. He told me that the mosque was open only during the time of prayers. He invited me to his shop and asked if I could write something for him to help. I was curious so I came in. He told me his story. His name is Ramadan. He can speak four languages (I do not know which, we spoke in English) but he cannot write or read. Can you imagine? He can't write his own name in Arabic. (I could.) When he must sign any paper, he just put thumbprint. Later he showed me the items from his shop. He had many jars with various creams and oils. He showed me a few of them, I was not specially interested. Finally he took a white substance from the camel milk, argan oil and I do not know what else. It is fantastic for the skin, after using it the skin is without wrinkles and impurities. And he started to put it on my face. I had all my face in it and the guy was very close. It was too much for me, I felt scared and run away.
Because of my curiosity I will get somewhen into trouble.
See the Workshops (with people).
PS. The wrinkles and impurities are still there.

Ciao Malgo, now I have a lot of experience with these tourist traps, all kind and friendly, the important thing is to make you spend money and maybe even try some sexual approach ... you bought something useless but you will have this experience, beautiful photos of the merchandise and you too you look happy, it will serve for the future ... Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
It's a strange shop with hundreds of items I would never buy. Getting very close to a stranger in Covid times doesn't sound like a good idea. There might have been other dangers too.
But how could he run a business without reading or writing? When I flew from Algeria to France once we had to fill in immigration cards during the flight. It turned out that most of the Algerians couldn't do it, so the entire crew and I had to help them. I noticed that the birth date for most persons was given as 1 January, which seemed very curious to me.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
Quite interesting shop selection. I've never visited Egypt, so never seen such. Those souvenirs look nice, regardless of where they were manufactured. Shopkeepers obviously have tough time these days, but clearly what you experienced was too much!

Hi Malgo
Fascinating shop interior with so much on display. I think I would have run away too, but worth it for the shot.

Hello Malgo.
Great series of photos of this store, which has hundreds of articles, difficult to find something that is really interesting among so much china, the creams and oils, it is to know the world of them very well.
A fantastic photos, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Very well done. I love it.
Enjoy Sunday.
Very best regards.
Luis.
P.S. I am already very well Malgo, he did not attack me very hard because it already had the three vaccines. Thanks

Hello Malgo,
What a strange combination of items that this man sells in his shop.
It seems to have articles for the Egyptians as well as other articles for tourists put together in one room.
Funny that you only walked away after your face was smeared with the product. Maybe you can also use that trick to use sunscreen.
I was never in Hurghada but my experience with other places in the country was that Egyptian shopkeepers are real wimps.
At least compared to Moroccan and Tunisian shopkeepers who often became aggressive when it became clear to them that I would not buy anything. Not that I wanted to waste their time knowing I wouldn't buy anything. But sometimes you just like to look around.
Do you mean that you went to another resort for your second and third day in Hurghada?
Best regards, Paul

Ale za to masz fajne zdjecia, fajne zestawienie dwoch widokow: kolorowych butelek i egipskich pamiatek.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Hi Malgo,
Interesting photo and in particular interesting "adventure" with this man and this closed shop ... be careful ! Often when traveling our curiosity makes us naive in front of such nice encounters and vendors. Tfs.

I liked some objects in the shop. I read your not but I didn't understand why you escaped from him if you had left him to initiate the process of skin treatment. I imagine you probably feel he had bad intentions after some moments... curiously in india I was buying a scarf for my niece and the vendor thought I was gay only because I was interested in scarfs, and I wanted a nice one and he became with gestures..
take care
jorge
