Photographer's Note
It was taken on top ( open-deck ) of the cruise ship.
The Tombs of the Nobles and Qubbet el Hawa ( Dome of the Winds ) at night/day.
The view from the top ( WS2 ) must be stunning but too bad that it was not in our itinerary.
On the other hand, I needed a day break.....just relaxed on the deck
and watched the boats/feluccas sailing by the river nile.
Well, eventhough I've bad experienced in Egypt.
Thinking back now , it was not that bad afterall but definitely not returning :-)

Hello Loong,
I have been in Aswan and I remember the view from your second picture in the WS.
But I would never have recognized the place in your main photo.
However, it is a wonderful picture, quite artistic.
Well composed in many different horizontal layers with a pretty alternation of dark and better lit parts.
The tomb on top of the hill remains the eye-catcher.

Hi Loong,thanks a lot for your very funny comment of my last pic,sorry i lost the number of my friend and i'm not sure that he's still alive because i was there 9 years ago and the birds haven't a long life. And your pic from Aswan is fantastic,i remember well this hill and you had a great opportunity to take this show in this wonderful moment,useful WS with a classic view in the day in the WS too. Nice comparison made between day time picture on the WS and the night scene, Loong.
The main photo, well chosen and has good scale from river up the hill with the ruins.

Hello Loong,
In a way I might regard this kind of illumination of the desert hill as a bit overdone to please the tourists, but no doubt the effect is quite exciting and the photo is well taken. You handled the light at somewhere between day and night very well, so we see the details of the hillside and the river clearly. In a way I find both workshops more interesting, but the main photo is certainly the most dramatic.
We seem to have had very different experiences of Cairo, and of Egypt generally, but that's part of life. ;-)

Hello Loong,
I really like this main photograph, like a dramatic stage, with lights guiding us up to the Dome of the Winds.
It is very interesting to see the view by daylight for details but this is so artistic!
I'm not sure what your bad experiences were, in Egypt, but your determination not to return makes it seem very unpleasant.
It is a place I have wanted to visit but, with all the uncertainty about safety and about the spreading of Covid, I fear it will never happen but, I really appreciate sharing the experiences of others.
