Photographer's Note
While living in Cairo we went to an art galleria from which this picture was taken. I features trash which has been thrown from the flats. I was amazed that under all that garbage and a metal roof was a large vegetable market. I was surprised the roof hadn't caved in.

Hi Giovanni
this is a WOW scene for me. what an incredible photo to have in your gallery. Looking at the building, why would there be no balcony under that open door, thats pretty dangerous don't you think??? I guess people just throw away their garbage out the window, thats a shame. The building itself has so much ugly charm (which i enjoy), so much ugly character and age. Wonderful shot of the real life conditions from Old town. cheers

Hi Giovanni, I remember roofs of Cairo and what a garbage was there. I was ten years earlier and it looked also like this. So a bit surprising to see the pots with the flowers. The walls of the left side look very old.

Great one Giovanni
You wouldn't actually know it was a roof without you saying so. I do like all the extures in the battered walls.
cheers

Hello Giovanni
Well spotted and a great picture. Not the classical beauty obviously, but that makes the post only better. Excellent post, imho.
Cheers

Hello Giovanni
An interesting picture , no doubt . The building is not well maintained but it has some charms . With a sense of cleanliness , even poor , this place could be much better .
