Photographer's Note
A golden funerary casket mask within the old Cairo Museum. The only reference I could find was that this was part of the Tutankhamen display, but I believe that is incorrect. It was up near the front of the museum away from the other exhibits of that king, and the style is more Roman or Greek (Ptolemy). I am not even sure if it is wooden.

Hello Chris,
Well, whoever this belonged to, and whatever it's made of, it's a magnificent mask photographed with a decent 3D effect. The paint is well preserved. Maybe it's fairly new, not ancient at all? :-)

This is a fine close-up, clearly revealing the smooth, golden surfaces of the face and the many decorative patterns surrounding it, on the headdress.
I agree with you.
This doesn't seem Egyptian, though it is an imitation of the Egyptian style.

In my youth, I read many books about archaeological excavations, so what joy was for me to see Persepolis two years ago and recently, Mycaenes and Schliemann findings in Archeological Museum in Athens.
