Photographer's Note
Cairo has around 20 million people and is infamous for its anarchic traffic. Drivers use the horn a lot and road rules are ignored. The Nile River cuts through the town and there are a few restaurant boats moored along the riverbank. The National Archaeology Museum is just out of frame in the upper right. Taken from the Cairo Tower in Opera District.
Here's a video showing the horrendous traffic.

I've loaded a workshop showing the Tower.

Hello Chris,
I like the placement of the bridge and the traffic marching like so many ants across the frame. The brightly illuminated foreground contrasts well with the rather hazy background.

Bonjour Chris,
Le nombre de voitures sur le pont anime la scθne et indique l'enfer de la circulation au Caire. La prise de vue permet de voir les dιtails des bateaux et des grattes-ciel. La bonne luminositι rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journιe.

Hello Chris,
An interesting photo with great details and very distinct diagonals. We can see clearly the mess of Cairo traffic. It was horrible already in 1983 and only seems to have got worse. The videos are scary and funny. I wonder if any of the drivers ever reflected upon the honking. What difference does it make?
Best regards,
Gert

Tu as su profiter d'un trθs beau point de vue sur le Caire. Une ville trθs moderne et bruyante mais qui garde de trθs belles traces de son histoire.J'aime la nettetι des dιtails ainsi que la lumiθre dorιe.

Hello Chris,
I knew Cairo was a busy place but you have shattered my ideas of it having an ancient character befitting of the pyramids and the Sphinx!
It looks modern, with a wealth of skyscrapers and a very modern bridge, just packed with traffic!
Besides supplying such a wealth of information, you have composed the shot really well, the diagonal bridge leading across the river and into the heart of the city.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
Great view of the city, the Nile and the huge amount of traffic on the bridge. It's truly impressive to see just the city as far as the eye reaches. Very well composed photo with fine colours.

Hello Chris, original view of Cairo from the tower. Tower also is an interesting structure. it is quite different view from the Cairo I remember. But I rather visited old places. And chaotic traffic is in many places in africa and may be more in Asia. For me always horrifying experience. Spectacular view and what a sharpness, stunning.

Hi Chris
Great image of this famous city, and the modern take on what I always imagine an ancient place is very noticeable, the ads, the traffic, a fantastic modern image. Look at that traffic!!
Cheers

A fine picture taken from a high point, Chris, stunning view of the Nile and vessels anchored, and the never-ending traffic on the bridge. 20 million people in a very congested urban area, chaotic yet vibrant.
The is always a yellow dust in the air - you had relatively good visibility on that day. Fine outcome.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Chris,
From ancient ruins to modern-day Cairo, all of your Egypt photos are fascinating. Great birds-eye-view, including the river, lots of buildings, and lots of traffic. :-)

Hello Chris,
You mean to tell me Cairo has worse traffic than Istanbul? This is a nice panoramic view of Cairo. I like the two prominent buildings on either side, TFS!
