Great PJE 2005-05-08 9:25

Well here is that rock Inukshuk that is now the 2010 olympic symbol. Hmm not my first choice by a long shot. And how much do they pay these artists to come up with such ideas. the olympics are not way up north they are in Vancouver. Hmmm

Sugestion on ISO 200. I have tried it in evening scenes and shot ISO 100 as well. Guess which one is sharper? Yes 100 ISO. Nice soft colors in this. I have the same camera and 50mm lens you have in this shot. You must have stood guite a ways back to catch this. Am I right? I like the sunset. The rock Inukshuk? Its interesting...but not for the olympic logo.

Default To PJE: Inukshuk

I agree about it not being a good symbol. I like the actual sculpture and shape, but it really isn't what I would have chosen for the olympics.

The ISO 200 was actually a mistake, I thought the camera was in ISO100 mode when it was actually in 200. I usually shoot in 100 when I can.. or when I remember, haha. You're right though, there IS a marked improvement from 100 to 200.

I was standing back quite a ways, yes. Ultimately I would like to get a 35mm f/2 lens for my walkabout lens (I'm not a big fan of zooms) since an 80mm equivalent is a bit too tight for most shots, but unfortunately it's a bit beyond my price range at the moment.

Thanks for the comments :)
