Hello Loong,
I was wondering if it were possible to visit this neighbourhood individually.
Then I read you visited it with a local guide who lives there.
That's a very good idea. In this way, the residents see that you are there with one of them.
From there you have a beautiful view of the bay.
But it will not be easy to live there.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your nice critique. In my opinion, I wouldn't visit this neighbourhood individually or in any townships in SA. I was on a 'groepsrondreizen' in Holland. Everything was organised by the tour leader who is dutch lives in cape town. She always made sure we reached to the hotels before dark. Remember the robbing on the bus in Johannesburg on the way to the hotel very late at night...we were also arrived on that day but we were the fortunate one. I think it can be done if well planned and be vigilant. Don't worry about Doi Suthep...it's nothing like Wat Banan, it's more like a tourist trap these day. Thanks for your time too. Stay safe and goodnight. Loong |
