Great glowdigit 2005-04-26 1:49

isn't the photo will look more "classic" if you could have elderly couple manning the counter rather the new generation, cause it look a little "out". nice work.

Default To glowdigit: pharmacy

I agree with you. The old man did my diagnosis and then proceeded to watch over the shop, he had a cigarette going throughout the diagnosis and spoke no English. I didn't see the mother, maybe she was out the back in charge of the preparation of teas?
I spent a lot of time chatting with the younger couple about Chinese and Western differences in values, family, attitude to work, personal freedom, and of course football; we had a detailed conversation about the Liverpool midfield!
The traditional pharmacies were giving way to more modern Western ones and this shot captures that transition, pink paper, proprietry medicines in the background and the young, western dressed couple, all add to that sense of transition.
That's my excuse for not switching to B/W or Sepia, someone has done a workshop and sepia-ised this shot and I do like it.
Thanks for your comments and welcome to trekearth, hope to see some of your shots soon.
Clive
