Hello David,

This is a beautifully composed night shot with delightful lighting, especially on that pair of lovely telephone boxes which are perfectly placed in the frame. The wall and pathway on the left provide and excellent lead-in to the picture too.

These boxes, of course, are the iconic "K6" telephone boxes, designed by the famous architect, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, and often referred to as the "Jubilee boxes" because they first appeared in 1935, the same year as the silver jubilee of King George V.

Lovely light, perfect exposure, fine colours and exquisite details and sharpness.

Kind Regards,

Hi John,

thank you so much for your kind critique and great level of additional detail to the history of the phone boxes! Considering my interest in the history of the United Kingdom, 20th century in particular, I feel rather ashamed not to have provided this level of detail in my original note!
Have a great day!

Default K6 telephone boxes............

Hi David,

Have a look here - you can buy your very own telephone box and have it shipped out to Slovakia!
