Default DOF and Macro with the S50

Hi Tuan,

Welcome to TE. I also own an S50 and I am quite happy with it. I'm interested in how you managed to take a macroshot and getting the blurry background. I often have difficulty achieving such depth of field (DOF). Of course zooming in helps, but then it is hard to get very close to the object. You've pulled it of on this occassion so if you have any advise...

Best,
Miks

PS: All the pic's I've posted on TE are by the S50 and I'd be very interested in your criticisms if you wanna check 'em out.

Hi Miks,

Thank you for you critique. I find your comment very helpful.
I did nothing special on the Iris photo. I set the camera on auto and zoom in on the subject(auto 1/100 F3.5). I retouch the photo by croping out the flower and slightly blur it 5-10%. I don't remember the exact blur value.
I am glad you liked the photo.

Regards,
Tuan
