It's actually a musical device - a flute of some serpert nature. This portrait was so tight that it wasn't included in the frame... I like to leave bits of information out of the scene to make people wonder.

That's a good one, I like that u're thinking that way of hiding some informations so the people would wonder and probably mistaken like I did:)) A flute, oh my, I feel so embarrassed, so the flute gives him the power?:)
