although i prefer another PoV for your second shot of the same event, this one is quite nice too. the simple BG works well.

I think I must use the same method (trial and error) as you Benny!
For the repost I selected the faces and the darker areas of the photo so I could work on the contrast to bring out the texture without affecting the highlights. In the original version I was a bit lazy and ended up blowing out the highlights by applying my changes to the photo as a whole. I also tidied up the background a bit. I'm glad you liked it.
