Thank you for your critique, Stephen.
I absolutely agree with your suggestion. Had I been posting the b&w as a main post, I would certainly have looked at it more carefully and adjusted where necessary. I just did a very quick conversion from colour to b&w to see how it might have worked. Today, our weather is cold but sunny and springlike, though the forecast is for snow. We had terrible winds yesterday from Storm Doris! Have a good w/e, Bev
