Halloen Asle

Interesting view, to me it seems liek you have tried some HDR...right?
The overall view looks good. Good composition, enough colour and so on.
Thank you for sharing.

Default To Merline: Hi Michele

Hi again Michele,

Ok, the conversions are more or less straight forward, what I do is to load the photo to my program called Corel, once there I go to special effects and then choose convert to B&W, I then go to "adjust" "adjust brightness" and then there is a sub-menu that shows you a tool called "clarify", I I use it twice on full grade to bring out strong lights and shadows, then I go back again to "adjust brightness" and reduce the light slightly and this is more or less what you get in the end.

I am no professional or photoshop expert, all I do is play with the different tools and see what comes out, when I come up with something nice Ithink to my self "this is worth sharing" and that is how I get most of my pictures converted, most of don`t feel that you have to learn on a certain deadline, just enjoy it while trying to convert them with the different photoshop tools and when you do something that you visually think "WOW" show it to the world, it does not matter what program you have, they all do more or less the same things, thank you for your critic on my photo and merry Christmas, regards, Joao Salas

that is nice of your to respond so fast, I appreciate and thanks again. Well I go about it more or less the same way actually, a bit of this a bit of that, always try to stay close as much as possible to the original. I do not have this clarify tool on my basic Photoshop elements, I think.

Wish you a merry Christmas too!
See you around

Ok, that is not a problem, if you want send me your address and I will send you a copy of my Corel program, I got a copy from a friend anyway so it did not cost anything, so you can have it for free too, but it is in english if you don`t mind.

bye for now
