Interesting concept to use HDR technique for this type of contre jour image and in my opinion it worked very well - I wouldn't say the white area in the sky looks as bad as you say.
As for the theme, it's a very evocative image and expresses the idea implied by the title very well. The shape of the person in the foreground speaks volumes.
It rained when I visited in April 2012 and it was a fairly mild day. I can only imagine how hot and humid it gets in July and how exhausting in must feel at the end of Ramadan.

I am sorry to confess that I saw your profile and missed that you have visited India already. Nonetheless, India still awaits you.
