I was searching for places and gone through your site and have seen snaps of khurdung la.

need more information on the same

hello,

my wife and I went Ladakh for our honeymoon which is where i think you mean you want to go as khurdung la is the highest driving road in the world at over 5000m above sea level.

you only need to visit this place on a trip to Pangong lake which is one of the most beautiful places i have seen.

i recommend that you go to Leh,Ladakh and do a day or 2day excursion to pangong (generally have to camp as no hotels that im aware of) you will need a travel permit. you can either rent motorbikes or do a trip in a jeep (shared or on your own) the cost if i remember rightly was about 12000rupees (but that does include going to some other really beautiful places like hemis monastry and nubra valley (a sand dune area with two humped camels to be rode)

the best time to go would be from June to September as the other times of the year its near enough impossible to travel there as temperatures drop dramatically and also snow.

there are some really good hotel options there to suit budgets if your on a tight one i recommend babu guest house next to the polo ground. its ran by a buddhist family and offers free water (purified drinking water)

two ways to get to ladakh one is to fly from Delhi to Ladakh another is to take trains buses etc from Delhi to for instance shimla, then on to ladakh takes a few days this way but does acclimatise you to the altitude.

flying is a good option time wise but recommend chilling out first day as the altitude is so great.

i cannot recommend this place enough if you check my photos tomorrow i will put a picture of pangong lake on its amazing.

The best time travel to Ladakh is After Mid June - until Mid September.
The route is from Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali-Rohtang pass-Tangdang la pass-Leh its need 3-4 days.
After Leh You can book taxi from Leh Taxi Stand for both way.
Hotel in Leh -Hotel Sambhala.
Hotel in Nubra Valley-Karma Inn After visiting Khardungla.
You need 15 days for Ladakh.
