Great ElSato 2005-09-30 11:16

Claire,

Damn, I am supposed to be working but I glance at TE for just ONE moment and you have THIS photo and I just have to comment.

I really love it, for all that it is not technically perfect (as you say). It takes a typical tourist site and removes it entirely from the usual cheesy postcard imagery that usually goes with such places. Instead we have this view from the back seat of a car, with an unidentified driver's hand on the wheel.

It feels very cinematic, as though it was a frame from an old Hitchcock movie (obviously it must be one only recently discovered gathering dust in some archives somewhere since I've never heard of a Hitchcock movie set in Egypt). There is a very clear sense that things are happening, that we are in the midst of some voyage, which is probably why it seems like a movie still.

Next to all of that, the small technical drawbacks don't count for much. I look forward to seeing others from this series.

Back to work with me now... *snshh* *snshh* (sound of lash being liberally applied to this delinquent employee.)

Lee

P.S. I think your workshop is quite good. It does add a little definition to the pyramid without detracting form any of the other, positive qualities I mentioned.

Default To ElSato: Thanks

Thanks for the nice comments Lee.

I know what you mean - it's so easy too get sucked in to TE when you're meant to be working. I normally start my day with a bit of TE-ing (when I'm supposed to be working of course) becuase I start an hour earlier than everyone else :-)
