Great Royaldevon 2021-10-17 8:41

Hello Gert,

The two impeccably dressed ladies do capture immediate attention not only because of the clothes but because they are also strongly positioned. (I noticed that they were barefooted, as is the gentleman. Is that so they are ready to enter the temple or just the normal way of dressing?)

I became initially confused by the chariot because the horses were in the wrong place to pull it; then I realised that they were part of the moveable display!
The chariot is huge! Those wheels remind me of something off a siege engine, from long ago! One was obviously a reliable back support for the trader!

Again, fine scans from your slides.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Default To Royaldevon: barefoot

Thank you Bev,
I don't think these ladies walked barefoot anywhere on muddy roads, but here they were on sacred temple ground so were obliged to take off their shoes (just as in mosques). I was barefoot too (remember my 'Temple of torture' recently!).
Kind regards,
Gert
