Default Re: Photoshop & framing contest !!

I started looking at slides I have of Guatemala for the colours, since the type of emboidery and the colours are quite similar. Gave a bit of a feel what I was looking at.

Best is off course to scan the negative or slide with a slidescanner and work on it while scanning. I use a Minolta Dimagescan Elite II. A 16-bit scanner with Digital ICE (Image Correction Enhancement) is able to do miracles with scratches.
It basically scans the slide infrared, sees where the light is reflected differently due to a scratch and recalculates the scan result based on a 'layer' of the infrared scan. It is wonderful!
Next to that, Digital ROC takes care of the colour enhancement. Digital GEM stands for "Grain Equalization and Management," and is a technology to remove the effects of film grain, without affecting image sharpness.

Taking care of a slide with ICE / GEM / ROC activated in 16-bits, at 2820 dpi takes about 8 minutes in my scanner... That's the downside. Then again, all steps below cost me 1hour, 40 minutes hahahaha.

Have a look here and let me know if you like my workshop!!
