Default GPS location

Hi all,
why not ad a feature "location" (longitude, latitude) when posting pictures. So that it can be located easily with google earth, GPS or on a map?
Just an idea, maybe some people can ad these in the comments of their pictures.

Cool idea. Cast my vote for having a place to enter a GPS location. When I have a GPS I'll be certain to add this to my notes.

I'm working on integrating Google maps right now based on city, so it would be automatic if a city is selected. I could add a lat/long option as well if I knew more about it. Thanks.

It's a very good idea.
I think latitude and logitude fields could be added to "Photo Information" section (like Genre, Medium or Categories fields are now). I would definitely use them.

The Google Earth place marks are straight forward XML files containing lat/long and some more infos regarding distance and viewing angle. Simply rename the .kmz file to .zip and look at the .kml file inside the archive with a text editor. Google Earth can work with these uncompressed files aswell and I'm sure they're easy to create with PHP.
Using the city I think is not accurate enough. Often I'm very confused with the provinces and cities here on TrekEarth and it's no surprise that many fotos are filed improperly.

keep up the great work!

Great feature... using names cause many mistakes and the google DB (or any other maps DB) may no support some small cities.

as addition to the PHP suggestion, here's a link to some PHP libraries for creating google earth files.

It's now possible to store lat/long coordinates for photos. If this is done, a [map] will show on both one's Manage page, and the main photo page which will popup a small page with the Google map zoomed in on the location. The coordinates must be entered as a decimal.

If there are any problems or suggestions please let me know. I think this will be useful for those with GPS navigation systems.
