Hi Thanh.
Wonderful portrait.
It's a tad unsharp... but I can live with it :-)

Good morning, Jorn:
I am glad you gave me time for the critiques, but felt uneasy with your letting-me-go as "can live with it". This turns my face red. I rather hear you saying "... you should rework on it!". Actually, I admit the failure you stated, and planned to rework on next trip next month. Sa Pa would be our primary "battle", but we are not sure if we could attend the Bac Ha weekly event, since the markets are on Sundays only... I will notify you if I can "fix" the failure on this photo or not. Thanks again and have a good day. Regards, Thanh |

Hi Thanh.
I didn't mean to offend you. What's why I ended with a smiley. Of course I mean "..rework on it". I'm looking forward to see what you're bringing home from your trip. I know portraits are difficult. One thing I have learned is *always* focus on the eyes. It have helped me a lot. Regards and have a nice trip Jorn |

No, I didn't feel offended at all.
What I said was, I felt like you gave me an easy excuse for my failure. Please be tough with my pictures because that's only path to improvement. *** The worst thing I did during recent trip, is to trust the eye-control system and auto-focus. I won't be easy with myself next time: tripod, manual focus, stay off from path for better POV... and also try hard to have portraits on dark background. Thanks for your kind words about my next trip. Hopefully I would be able to bring home better pictures ;o) Best Regards, |
