Hey Roly;
I did just that, but what REALLY put me off Roly was the number of dead dogs that popped up! I found two barbequed ones, and one road kill! Ewwww.... Have a good weekend mate! - Dan |

Well Dan, we have a "food" category and it's not likely that too many of these tasty roasts would be considered pets. ;) Plus this is, by all means, a very cultural thing...

Dan,
who and on what basis can decide if a photo violate TOS ? I put portraits without notes even, so how come someone decided that this is someone form my family or my friend? anyway I've seen also auto portraits and portraits that had an info in note even that there is someones' friend on the picture I don't feel like arguing once my photo is removed. Question is: why some people CAN and some CAN'T post? regards Adam |

Hello everybody concerned with the size of the dog,
the dog was huge - and that was the joke - the dog guarding the way . picture was taken from the dog's point of view / very low point of view / it was so funny picture that I marked as my favourite. And I really think it was clear that it was not a pet. Soon all photos of children could be erased as well / what if they are the photographer's kids. Best wishes Romana |

Good point Adam,
why some, and why other not ? It should be : nobody... But, personnaly, I think with every posted shot, there should be a note. Some people could post a portrait of a friend, a relative (that is not allowed), but do not mention it, or lie about it... So, it would be more easy to just forbid portraits on this site... Maybe, the "tos" should be more "severe", and also : no note - no post ? |

Hi Adam;
The moderators/ Adam (Silverman) decide if photo violates TOS. Personally I think every image should contain a note. We're here to learn about the world through photography, and a not is always nice to why the shot was taken- what's the story behind the photo etc. A general example; If there is a photo taken in someone's home, there is good chance that it's a 'family or friend' as you don't normally find strangers in your home. If the same person is showing up in different photos your posting (over a period of time etc.) there's a good chance they're a family or friend right? If someone posts an image stating there 'this is my friend' I assure you the image would be removed (if the moderators new about it). That's where it comes down to us as fellow TreEarth members to keep the site true to goal by reporting such images that are against the TOS. I don't want to argue with anyone- I am just conveying my perception of the TOS as I have viewed them over the past 4/ 5 years that I've been a member... The rules apply to every member. If a member has 30,000 points and they post a photo of their dog, They will have that image removed just the same as someone who has only just started with 85 points etc. There is no discrimination. However, I have found that in reporting some 'older' shots are just left 'as is'. All the best, - Dan |
