Great Miks 2004-11-09 8:55

I'm very impressed that you pulled this of with an S50 cuz I have one myself and I find the shutter lag quite significant. i'm also surprised that tehre is so little noise in the pic. Did you do anything to reduce it?

I actually like the overexposed corner as it provides a nice scale of purple. A very 'striking' shot.

Default To Miks: shutter and noise

Hi, Mikkel
Thank you for your kind comment.
Yes, it was a quite interesting experience. It was my first shooting during the thunderstorm and I was not aware of right cam settings. I set aperture f/8 and then with every shot adjusted the shutter speed. So I found out 3.2 seconds providing the best exposure until this particular lightning bolt struk far but right in front of me.
As for the noise, I used NeatImage to reduce it. Sorry, didn't mention it in my note.
Best regards.
Vsevolod.
