Great singuanti 2007-11-15 20:25

Hi Paul. I'm surprised you were able to fit that huge landscape without a wide-angle. I can see some specks of people on the other side and wow this thing is massive. You set the shot up well with the foreground. I think I see an Indian, lol!

Default To singuanti: Hi Steve

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I actually took 4 vertical photos and stitched them all together to make this frame. And while I am at it I should have uploaded a workshop closeup view of the town of Squamish which I took with my 70-200 lens. It is a wonderful place to climb and see for yourself. Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Paul,
You did a great job with the stitching. Do you have a true wide-angle lens? On my vacation I used my Tokina 12-24 for nearly all of my landscape photography like this. I would throw the Nikon 70-300 VR on for wildlife I might come across and when going on a hike I would use the Nikon 18-200 VR. But I must have used the Tokina and Nikon zoom for 95% of my shots and I could have honestly left the 18-200 VR at home.

On a hike to Yellowstone Falls my 18-200 VR developed an autofocus problem when focused at objects a long way away fully zoomed in. I need to send it in for repair to fix that. My other lenses are just fine so it's not my camera that has the problem.

Steve
