Default Stolen point threads

It must stop!

A few years ago, only a few nuts, malcontents and unsuspecting new members did post about points. These threads belonged to them. Lately I have even seen some of my arguments and ideas proposed a couple years ago, bluntly copied and pasted into these threads, with barely any editing to them. This sad state of affairs has disgusted and chased away some of the great defenders of the "point system as it is". I miss them dearly but I cannot blame them. Who wants to see his or her prose plagiarized and argument enunciated on the forum while they were asleep, as alas TE is one of these empires where the sun never sets?

Is there anyone, anything, any law that could prevent people from stealing point threads?

I hope you all had a great week-end!

:-)

Roflol, Hervι.

Have they won any contest in other point arguments forums?

I suggest anyone to use these basic anti threadthievery disposals :
- Watermark a large copyright name on the threads, preventing any thief to steal threads as they are.
- Do not upload RAW arguments, only low res words should be used when talking a points (no words longer than 5 letters and no adverbs), prefered words are : of, yes, no, one, two, in, out. (note that "yellow" is already too long and scores heavily when playing scrabble in french... that might attract too many points thread thieves.. your own risk... prefer the word "green" which is shorter.)
- Always keep a copy of your points thread on several hard drives. I recommend RAID 5 procedures to keep your points thread safe.
- if anyone asks to use your points thread, insist for him to sign a points thread usage agreement.

The way to point thread professionalism is a hard way but give the best of our point thread writers a chance!

Cheers

Default huffman compression

Luko,
agree, no RAW arguments and a maximum of 5 letters.

In cases like Herve explains a simple form of coding would help, and the Huffman compression would work very well, so this it what I suggest to use. for instance;
00100111010000011010111001010111110101011110011100 110110100101101111
(you guessed it; "I think it would be better if you start using the huffman coding")
It would also save time, a compression just over 48% and only two symbols -well located on the keyboard- have to be used.

I would like to offer some of my simple threads. $5 for a 2-point comment, $2 for a 1-point comment.
Mails are welcome

David,

may I kindly remind you that the use of 1 or (god forbids!) 0 is not appreciated when talking about stolen points in trekearth. I then suggest a new boolean code which would go like :
22222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222 222222222222.
Way better, success guaranteed!

Cheers
Luko
