Great Matthew-Watt 2007-04-11 2:50

Hi Marylin,
I visit this island often in our boat from the Maroochy River. The island's shelf boasts many stunning tropical reefs, like a slice of the Great Barrier a bit further south! I have never set foot on the island but have got rather close to it, next time if the waves are small i might swim in from the boat and check out the old hut ruins or bird colonies. While sitting off the front of this island fishing, a pod of five humpback whales passed under our boat on their journey south. This is a special spot indeed. I like your compo, with the coffee rock sticking out and the slim percentage of water. Cood colours and clarity. I think that the frame could have been better without the eye-catching blue line, it draws away from the earthy colours, otherwise, great.
Matt
