Hello Finlay,

It is good to see you posting again on TE. We haven't seen you for a long time!

This is a very fine capture of a herring gull, easy to recognise by the red spot on its beak. You have captured excellent details of its plumage, showing the overlapping feathers on its folded wings.
The nicely angled aspect makes a good composition, with lots of interesting details around.

There is a slight tilt to the horizon, something that is easy to correct in PS.

Thanks for your feedback and comments Bev - particularly for identifying this as a herring gull. Will look out for that red spot on the beak the next time I am at the seaside.
