Great tyro 2012-07-02 12:42

Hello Finlay,

This is a lovely serene view, so restful and so peaceful but with just a little surprise - that little seaplane off to the left just trying to hide away near the trees!

Lovely evening light, subtle true colours, perfect exposure and excellent sharpness. And the framing from the overhanging brances is lovely.

Kind Regards,

P.S. You've given us an interesting note here but do you know something I just discovered last week? We know that mountains over 3,000 feet are called "Munros" but did you know that someone has coined a name for hills which have a relative height of more than 150 metres? They're called "Marilyns"! Read about them here!

Hello John,

Thanks for your link to the info on "Marilyns". I haven't came across this name before, but with the Munro connection its very apt. It's always surprising what you learn on this site.
