i joined TREKEARTH yesterday and posted a picture of mine. This picture has been deleted/removed without notifying me what the issue was. if there was any violation of the rules of the site, i would like to know atleast so that i can correct and repost. removing picture without any proper notice or email seems very disturbing.
I would like the Photog community or the moderators to advice me what was wrong in my picture and if i can correct and repost. My picture was titled GREAT EGRET! Thanks Suresh |

Hi Suresh,
An e-mail is sent automatically whenever an image is removed from the Gallery. If you didn't receive it, it was probably blocked by the spam filter on your e-mail. That might be on your PC or on the managing server. I can tell you that it was removed because of the logo which breaks the Terms of Service (TOS) of the site. Hello Trekearth.
I have exactly the same problem, but I have already checked my mail and there΄s nothing there from you. It was a simple picture of yellow flowers. I can΄t understand why it was wrong. I΄ve seen lots of pictures of flowers here.. |

Hi Gwendolen,
I can promise you an e-mail was sent as I received notification of it although I wasn't the mod who removed it. The reason it was removed is set out below. "Your photo has been inactivated because of rule 5 of TOS - http://www.trekearth.com/terms.php : 5. As the purpose of TrekEarth is to learn about the world through photography, shots of common objects (like closeups of any flowers or plants, water droplets, toothbrushes etc.) tend not teach us anything without a suitable note, so unless there's a suitable note they will be deactivated at the discretion of site moderators. If you wish to post these types of image please consider using our sister site TrekLens." |
