Hello Rosemary
I love how the fg tree also floats slightly, the shadow is there though to ground it, but the image plays with your mind for sure.

To jemaflor: Tree

Hi Jean
I agree also, it maybe too central, however I chose the centre for a few reasons, one because of the title I gave the image, 2nd, if I moved more to the right, the fog would not be as...

To SnapRJW: NZ + Scotland

They are similar Rosemary, I have heard the expression "its very much like Scotland but on steroids". And that is so true.

To samson: Church of the good shepherd

Ha ha,
It does a bit but there are no crowds of tourists at this church which made it so much rewarding to wander around and get lost in. ;-)

To dta: Crop

Hi Denis
Yes I do have whole reflection, see comment to Angshu, the right hand side is where the car park is, so lots of cars and buses, but I can see your point about the spacing.

To Angshu: Chopped

Hi Angshu
Two reason why I chopped the reflection but subjective off course.

1st reason being is my horizon would have been bang in the middle, I did not photograph any more bottom and the sky is...

Re: Your Favourite Pictures 2009

Added Polonaise 'The game' but you will have to delete from theme as it was not taken in 2009. Oh well, still a TE classic in my opinion.

To feather: Hi Kath

I don't think this is volcanic, across the water Auckland is only about 60km away, but the drive is much much more. Rangitoto would not be too far away (that is volcanic) while Waiheke Island is the...

Re: To jimkil: Three Sisters

Hi Jon
23 days is not a lot of time to see NZ - Minimum of three months you need I reckon and that is still driving like a lunatic to cram it in, so I am glad I live here full time.
Hope to see...

Re: To jimkil: Distortion and what affects the ratings

Hi Peter

Yes, there's that aspect on the points and I am amazed at how some average photos get 150+ points while others who pretty much produce some master-class work get less attention - however...

To Angshu: Hi Angshu

Yes, would have loved to move more right but this is covered by bush and steep drops. The best part would be to go further up the road for a much higher POV, but then you have to go onto private land...
